“God has done so much and been so faithful!”
Sarah, 27, a teacher and member of King's Church Kingston
“When people ask me what my testimony is, I often find it hard to put into a nutshell. God has done so much and been so faithful!
“I grew up as part of a non-Christian family. As a child, my younger brother and I had nannies, who lived with our family and helped to care for us when our parents were working. When I was 9 years old, a lovely lady called Sarah joined our family and stayed for 4 years. She was a Christian and God really used her to impact my life.
“For the first couple of years, we didn’t speak much about God. But I do clearly remember that there was something different about her; a light and a joy that made me want to be around her. She just shone with God’s love. God began to speak to my heart.
“Increasingly, through various conversations I had with Sarah and other circumstances too, I found myself longing to know more about Jesus. Having gone from being a child who had no idea about who God was, or even was supposed to be, I became convinced that he was very real and I was hungry to know more.
“I was increasingly praying and talking to God lots. Sarah gave me a Bible and I asked lots of questions! I grew in my understanding of who God was, why he had sent Jesus and what that meant for us today.
“I gave my life and my heart to Jesus. There was much more that happened thereafter and I still had (and still have!) much to learn. But I had fallen in love with Jesus and was desperate to live life following him.
“And I suppose that, in a nutshell, was the beginning of the story!”
