Passion Week Podcast - Thursday 6th April

The Passion Week - otherwise known as Holy Week or Easter Week - is so called because of the passion Jesus showed for the world he came to rescue and restore.

This, is the seventh year that we have looked to set aside this week to take time to live through the week with Jesus as he arrives in Jerusalem having ‘set his face’ (Luke 9:51) to accomplish the rescue and redemption of mankind. Follow him to the city gates, to the temple, to the last supper, to Gethsemane, the trials and of course to the cross and the tomb. As you do, expect to encounter the passion of Jesus … his passion for the glory of God … his passion for the world … and his passion for you personally. And then come on Easter Sunday with passionate worship and joy in response to our resurrected King and Saviour!

Spurgeon: “The more we dwell where the cries of Calvary can be heard, where we can view heaven, and earth, and Hell, all moved by His wondrous passion —the more noble will our lives become. Nothing puts life into men like a dying Saviour.”

This is primarily a week for the Christian to slow down, reflect, worship and give thanks … to explore the depth of Easter all over again … to encounter the passion and love of Jesus and for the unbeliever to explore with us, look in on this.

Jo continues our Passion Week journey. Enjoy.
